Have you ever been a tourist for the day?! In your own city?!

Yes, it does sound sort of weird, maybe even kind of crazy! But what’s crazy is the amount of things you’ve probably never seen or done. The best thing? They’re basically on your doorstep! Oh, did we mention there’s also some things in this blog that don’t cost ANYTHING! Our favourite kind of things to do!

There’s a lot to see and do around The Dubai Mall, and tourist hotspots are definitely on there! You have options both in AND around the mall. So we’re here to let you know what to check out. A popular spot for a snap, with the iconic Burj Khalifa in the background is the Angel Wing Frame. FYI, the official name of the sculpture is ‘Wings of Mexico’ and was created by Jorge Marin.
If you time your trip you might be able to catch one of The Dubai Fountain’s amazing shows. Time it even better and you could get that well timed selfie with some amazing fountains in the background! The fountains do various shows depending on when you head there so be sure to research before you go!

The next one is very hard to miss. Yep, you guessed it, the Burj Khalifa! If you’re looking from the outside don’t forget you can go in! Why not try and head to the viewing deck for sunset? You do have to pay for that but it’d be worth it, right?

And for the final half of this blog… Go and head inside The Dubai Mall! First on your list is definitely going to be the Dubai Dino! It was recently up for auction and while nobody publicly bid on the giant, that doesn’t mean someone didn’t get it. So you’d best get there sooner rather than later, just incase.

Not as much of a picture spot as the others, and is another one you’ll have to pay for if you want to truly experience it, the ice rink! We definitely think this is a novelty, being in such a warm place in the world but being able to skate on ice. However, if ice isn’t your thing that’s cool. You could always head over to one of the world’s largest aquariums. Yep, that’s right. In the mall.

Our final spot to check out is the Dubai Pearl Divers. We’ve previously written a blog on this huge waterfall sculpture so check it out. You can view the waterfall from multiple levels so that means multiple picture angles! Oh, it’s also an optical illusion too. If you stare at one diver supposedly the surrounding divers ‘disappear’. Let us know if it works!

There are, of course, more hotspots that we didn’t include so let us know if you see any more or even which ones you liked the most from the above! For all of you residents, staycations are pretty popular these days, so we hope you took notes while reading the blog!
