THE DUBAI FITNESS CHALLENGE
23 Oct 2018
Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2018 is running for the second year, introduced in 2017 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Makhtoum, encouraging 30 days of activity for everyone in the city, with the view to make Dubai the world’s most active city. The goal is simple: to inspire 30 minutes of exercise a day, for 30 days. It doesn’t matter whether you live here, or you’re just visiting, it’s time to get your gym gear on!
The DFC website claims that the initiative “goes beyond building an ever-evolving city into an inspirationally active one – it is about creating champions out of challengers, and a society of happy, global citizens.” The initiative will take place between 26 October - 24 November 2018, with exciting events being held throughout the city. The opening weekend will include a carnival at Dubai Festival City, which will offer free fitness classes, lots of activities for children and even a massive firework display.
Throughout the month, there will also be a fair share of activities for everyone to get involved in and do their bit, in an attempt to lead a more active lifestyle. To inspire fitness and sport throughout Dubai, five themed villages will be set up to allow accessibility for everyone, catering to various tastes and interests. All villages offer free admission - here’s what to expect:
