HBMSU Graduation 2019
SmartCitti attends HBMSU Graduation 2019
10 Feb 2019
On Tuesday 5th February, the Crown Prince of Dubai and President of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, attended the graduation of the 9th batch of graduates of the university. The inspiring ceremony was held at Dubai World Trade Centre, with learners receiving their certificates via blockchain technology for the first time, and we were honoured to be a part of it!
A total of 222 learners received their graduation degrees for the academic year 2017-2018 and the ceremony was attended by Minister of Education, Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi; Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Chairman of the University’s Board of Governors; Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, University Chancellor; along with faculty members, administrators, and parents of the graduate students.
During the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was briefed about several initiatives that the university had launched, including the use of blockchain technology, which allows graduates to share academic certificates and degrees through social networking platforms, the academic and professional community, friends and family - at any time and place.
Furthermore, the event included an announcement of the launch of the new Innovation Center, which unifies the university and its strategic partners in reaching a community of creative minds to share knowledge, best practices, showcase innovative ideas and find effective solutions to reach the market.
The Innovation Center partners include Smart Citti, Etisalat, Siemens, Honeywell, Signify, Trane, and Delos, and is the first step in unifying institutions, entrepreneurs, business leaders, academics and experts, both nationally and internationally, to be part of mutual efforts to implement projects, initiatives and advanced research in various economic fields and future sectors. The “Free Zone” is the hub of the Innovation Center, a cornerstone of HBMSU’s vision of pioneering entrepreneurs instead of job seekers, enhancing the role of the university in the changing face of education, research and business within the region.
The Center adopts a non-monopolistic vision, promoting a culture of entrepreneurship, innovation and empowerment within the Arab world. Smart Citti is proud to be part of such an exciting initiative, promoting the values of cooperation, enterprise and growth. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for innovation and creativity within the region!
Congratulations once again to the HBMSU graduates and their families!
