A Newbie’s Guide to the Souk in the Dubai Mall

So you’ve heard of the Souk in Dubai Mall. But what exactly is it? Is it worth going to? After all, there’s over a thousand shops in Dubai Mall - surely it would take you a while to go through all of them, never mind adding a few additions of the Souk into that mix! So we’re here to help you decide whether the Souk is worth your precious exploration and shopping time..

Dubai is a shopping haven and it’s fine collection of Souks do not disappoint. Now, in this blog, we’re not discussing Souk Al Bahar, which is situated outside of the Dubai Mall on the Old Town Island, offering antique and souvenir shops, restaurants and cafes and amazing views of the Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa (that’s a topic for another day). The Souk within Dubai Mall is just as glam, but situated in the centre of the Mall.

This little gem is found bordering the rest of the Dubai Mall’s jaw-dropping collection of jewelry and fashion stores, but with an Arabian twist. Here, you can find fine jewellery, precious metals, stunning gemstones and intricately designed accessories, such as pashmina shawls and Arabian Abayas.

Not only are the boutiques modernised and truly enchanting, the local tradesmen and craftsmen are clearly passionate about their products, art and heritage. The Souk is decorated with spectacular ornaments and decor, captivating new eyes and showcasing Emirati culture, alongside over 40 Arabian-style boutiques.
