Money no object? Grab yourself a dinosaur!

So, if you’ve checked out one of previous blogs you’d know some details about what we’re going to talk about. If you’ve not read the post we’re on about then check it out below!

The title is a bit of a giveaway really, and if you did read the other blog (well done you!) then you know what this is going to be about. Hey, you might even have read about it by now!

The Dubai Mall is home to something pretty huge, located in The Souk Dome. We’re talking about the Dubai Dino. The Diplodocus is set to be auctioned off! However, if you did happen to be interested in the amazing piece, it’ll set you back a hefty Dh14.6 million, and that’s the MINIMUM.

So. Dino details. This is HUGE, we’re not joking. We’re talking 24.4 metres long and 7 metres high! Guess what, it was only discovered in 2008, in Dana Quarry in Wyoming. It then went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science before then coming to The Dubai Mall and being displayed to the public for the past 5 years! The dinosaur is a female and supposedly died around the age of 25.

The public in Dubai were first shown the Dubai Dino on 10 March 2014 and Emaar supposedly paid ‘several million dollars’ for the dinosaur all those years ago, so she wasn’t a cheap display piece!

The auction will be completed on September 8, so there’s still time to get those all important bids in (we wish!). We’re just wondering who the new owner will be and where they’re planning on putting this dinosaur!

We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on the auction page for updates. This is something we definitely can’t impulse buy!
